If you’ve got a garden and want to think about enjoying the harvest through the winter, or if you just have fond memories of mom’s or grandma’s trove of wonderful goodies in glass jars, this class is for you. Through demonstration – we’ll make and can either blueberry or raspberry jam — we’ll cover all the basics of canning fruits and vegetables: choosing and preparing the produce, water bath vs. pressure canning, high-acid vs. low-acid foods, canning jargon, safety tips, and more. By class end, you’ll know what you need in terms of equipment and produce; you’ll see firsthand just how easy, safe, and fun the process is; and you’ll sample our freshly made jam!
