Wind Hill Community Farm & Learning Center, Inc. (WHCF) is seeking a Farm Manager for 2025. WHCF is a nonprofit community farm that promotes local farming, organic principles, environmental stewardship, providing fresh produce to food pantries, healthy lifestyles and the enjoyment of outdoor activities and community events.
Our 2-acre farm is a model of sustainability, with on-site composting, low till farming, and an off-grid solar-powered water system. WHCF grows 20+ types of typical Connecticut produce & flowers in its fields and hoophouse for distribution through a CSA and contribution to community food pantries. The Farm Manager reports to the WHCF board of directors which approves WHCF mission, vision, policies, and annual farm plans. The board of directors is responsible for recruiting and managing WHCF volunteers.
The Farm Manager will have primary responsibility for planning crop production, preparing & maintaining the soil, planting seeds, transplanting, tending and treating plants as required, harvesting and preparing the vegetables for distribution to our CSA members and community food pantries, and for providing guidance to farm volunteers in day-to-day farming activities.
Farm Manager Applicant Qualifications include:
· Experience with sustainable farming practices including crop planning, soil management, crop succession, and natural fertilizer
· Experience with CSA management, no-till soil management, natural pest & disease control a plus
· Strong communication skills
· Reliable transportation & cell phone
The Farm Manager is a part-time independent contractor position with flexible hours focused on the growing season from June through September. Hours and salary are negotiable and will be determined in conjunction with the Farm Manager candidate.

We donated over 400lbs of fresh produce all grown with organic principles by our dedicated group of volunteers.

Experienced Gardner? Help us teach others and help us in our fields.
